Dana Mitchell

Dana Mitchell was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, but grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He is one of eight children. Mr. Mitchell was educated in the public schools of Columbia and later attended both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, where he graduated in 1973.

Mr. Mitchell is married to the former Frances Lynne Wallace. They have four grown children and five granddaughters. When Mr. Mitchell is not practicing law, he enjoys time with his family, golf with friends and family, gardening, and vacationing in the North Carolina mountains and Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Bill Bouton

Bill completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina majoring in Business Administration. He also graduated from the University of South Carolina with a joint degree in Law and a Masters in International Business Administration in the Spanish track.

Upon finishing graduate school, Bill and his wife moved abroad for a year where he worked for an international travel agency in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He and his wife returned to the United States where he clerked for the Honorable J. Derham Cole, Circuit Judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit. Following his clerkship, Bill began working as an assistant solicitor under Bob Ariail for the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

After working for four years as a state prosecutor, where he prosecuted cases ranging from murder to DUI and drug cases, Bill opened Wilkins & Bouton, LLC, with his longtime friend Robert Wilkins. Bill enjoys litigation and concentrates most of his practice in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation.

His civil litigation practice is diverse with most of it focused on personal injury. He represents people who have been seriously injured in car accidents or at work. His criminal practice focuses mainly on defending individually in both State and Federal Court across South Carolina, except for in the City of Spartanburg where Bill acts as the city prosecutor in the Municipal Court. His defense work varies from juvenile matters and traffic tickets to complex federal drug conspiracies.

Bill is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association and the Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Bill and his wife Margaret live in Greenville with their four children.

Lucas Marchant

Born and raised in Greenville, SC where his family has been an integral part of the upstate for over 125 years. After graduating from J.L. Mann High School, Lucas earned his BA from the University of South Carolina and then his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. For Lucas, it was a natural choice to return to Greenville because he wants to serve our community.

Lucas returned in 2004 where he began his legal career with the 13th Circuit Solicitors Office under Bob Ariail. During Lucas’s 12 years of litigation as a prosecutor, he handled juvenile cases in Family Court, misdemeanor cases in Magistrate Court and felonies in General Sessions. For more than half of Lucas’s career, Lucas was the Assistant Deputy Solicitor. He prosecuted a variety of complex cases such as Murder, Robbery, Burglary, Sexual Assault, DUI, Drugs and Domestic Violence. In 2012, Lucas was honored as the “Solicitor of the Year” by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. Lucas is a graduate of the Leadership Greenville County in 2012 and a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 42 (2016).

In 2016 Lucas left the Solicitors Office and started Marchant Law Firm, where he practiced criminal defense, family law and civil litigation. In 2023 Lucas joined his longtime friend and colleague Bill Bouton and his partner Dana Mitchell, at Mitchell & Bouton, LLC and they formed Mitchell, Bouton & Marchant, LLC.

Lucas is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association and the Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Lucas and his wife Jessica live in Greenville with their two children.
